THE KÉRASTASE HAIR EROSION SCALE
After extensive research, Kérastase has developed the Hair Erosion Scale, meeting the needs of damaged hair. The scale assesses hair damage and places it on a scale from 1 to 4, 1 being slightly damaged, and 4 total destruction of the hair fibre. Once the erosion level has been diagnosed, a personalised treatment will be prescribed for the hair.

Some raised and separated scales, fibre surface is less smooth.  1. Some raised and separated scales, fibre surface is less smooth.

The scales of sensitive hair are turned up. The contour of the hair is not smooth and the scales which catch light appear uneven and speckled.

Weakened/Damaged Hair Weakened/Damaged Hair

The hair has such an uneven cuticle that the cortex is almost bare and transparent in certain areas. The hair is vulnerable to breakage and split ends.
